In "And Then She Fell" by Alicia Elliott, Alice, a young Indigenous woman, seemingly has the perfect life with her supportive husband and newborn daughter in Toronto. However, plagued by impostor syndrome and grief over her mother's recent passing, Alice struggles to connect with her baby and hides her despair from her husband and neighbors. As strange occurrences escalate, including lost time and mysterious voices, Alice fears for her and her daughter's safety. Despite her husband's reassurances, Alice is convinced that her writing project, a modern retelling of a Haudenosaunee creation story, holds the key to their survival.

In a whimsical tale, 100 dragons named Broccoli reside high on a mountain. When a powerful wind scatters half of them, ten opt for a surfing career in Hawaii, while others embark on diverse adventures like forming a heavy metal band in New York City or transforming into mythical creatures. Young readers will relish tracking each dragon's journey until only one, Broccoli, remains. As Broccoli retreats to a cave for winter, a spring surprise awaits, promising an enchanting read every time. Available at Greene County Library.
