Frances "Frankie" McGrath, a young nursing student, decides to join the Army Nurse Corps and follow her brother to Vietnam. She is unprepared for the harsh realities of war but finds friendship and courage amidst the chaos. After returning home, Frankie must adjust to a changed America and fight for recognition of the sacrifices made by veterans.
