Kaley learns she has unique abilities tied to Bellis and a critical role in its future. This month, we're shining a spotlight on the Vidalia onion, a true Georgia treasure! These sweet, mild onions are a culinary delight and a testament to the unique agricultural landscape of our state.
Did You Know?
Vidalia onions are grown in a specific 20-county region in Georgia, thanks to the unique soil composition that gives them their signature sweetness.
They were accidentally discovered in the 1930s when a farmer named Moses Coleman found that his onions were sweet instead of pungent.
Vidalia onions are Georgia's official state vegetable!
